Need help diagnosing front end vibration
2002, Ohlins with 12k front springs, hard race bushings, Gendron front bar, SPC upper ball joints.
When I travel ~70 mph and above, there is a minor vibration coming from the front end accompanied with a low pitched hum/groaning noise that pulses a bit. It started the first drive after getting home from a track day. I've done several autocrosses with this vibration and the car feels 100% normal under 70.
Have balanced wheels, swapped wheels, and I was so convinced i was going to solve the issue when i found a slight amount of play in the right front wheel bearing. However, after replacing the wheel bearings with OEM ones the vibration has decreased by about 70% but I can still feel something that wasn't there before.
When popping the ball joints to remove the knuckle, the right front tie rod had grease escaping the boot (only after popping it). There is no discernible play in the tie rod joint. I should probably replace this anyways but I'd be totally shocked if it solved it. Steering feels tight as ever. There seems to be something up with the RF corner though, doesn't there?
The wheel temperatures are not hot, which to me says it's not the calipers. But not impossible.... I do have spare calipers to swap over if it comes to that.
Any other ideas? I have a track day this weekend and I'm pretty bummed I couldn't figure it out. The car feels safe to drive so I'm going, but this small vibration is still on my mind. TIA
