I made a list of BBK's, their current prices as of July 2021, their rotor size, and the cost of replacement rotor rings. Use the information how you wish.

I did not factor in replacement pads because then my list would get too large. I did not bother to try linking caliper templates as not every BBK has as wheel template either. I'm aware you are able to purchase some of these BBK's on sale but I tried to list the standard advertised/MSRP price.
This was just going to sit in an excel sheet on my computer, but I figure it's better if I share it. I may attempt to make a list of rear options as well on a lonely cold stormy night.

Feel free to add options, discuss, or start a fight about BBKs

ST40 Kit. It works. Arguably the best bang for the buck. No doubt there are better kits, but it's hard to beat this consumables ratio.

C43 is LOUD. Like distractingly so. Removed C43 and went back to my ST40 which is in my opinion the best brake kit you can buy for the S2K.

FWIW my ST40 kit has nearly 400 (that is not a typo) track days on it. Ive changed rotors 3x. If thats not a winning consumable ratio youre asking too much.

Im getting about 25 days on pads (approx 1 year) and about 80-100 on rotors.

I wasn't able to find out how to conveniently order those rotor rings. I went to their site but it seems you may have to order from Centric/Stoptech directly.
I also had a difficult time finding rings at an online shop for Project Mu and you similarly have to order from Project Mu USA.

I wanted my first post to be completely unbiased, but yes, ST40 has a good price:consumable ratio and are further from the hub and take up less horizontal space which gives you more wheel options.

I've also been searching for wheel templates to save onto my computer to hopefully make a library.
I asked Wilwood to provide me a template but they did not have one. Instead, they had dimensions to make a rough template. If there is someone with a factory Thermlock Wilwood BBK I'd be thankful if they made a template the way Mountain-man made his for the Spoon Calipers and we could verify the dimensions provided by Wilwood, please contact me via DM.

I was just starting to look into these. The ST40s to me seem to be the "best" kit for consumable cost and longevity. The fact they are one of the few with dust boots also helps.

The SBG Willwoods look to be a great kit especially combined with their RX8/S197 rear kit. The calipers themselves are cheap enough to replace if needed and the 20mm pads are nice but I have heard the clearance is annoyingly worse and pads have some tapered wear around the edges causing pedal feel to be great initially then more vauge.

I street drive my car a lot on my AP2v1s so I'm probably a minority when looking for a BBK that fits those with some spacers. My K8R's are hideous but great wheels for autocross or track days with great BBK clearance. I just wish they had a center cap!

Well if you use them on track enough, you wont have centercaps on many wheels lol. Already forgot to pop them out and lost a center cap on my 949's. And on the TRM C3's just gave up on center caps. Even autox causes those to pop out. The little plastic tabs get deformed with heat over time and they just get looser. The 949s at least have a metal spring thing to help, but still lost one at a track day because I forgot to take them out and another has the tabs badly warped.

My issue with eventually going to a BBK is of course wheel fitment. Already own a set of 949 6ULRs and TRM C3's so would suck to not be able to run a set of wheels that I already own!

ST40 (328x28mm) rotor rings can be found everywhere, including amazon. Deals can be had as well with enough digging and searching.

Pad selection is awesome too since the pad shape and caliper design is based off of the 964/993 Carrera brakes.

Overall, it's a design that's proven and works and has been adapted for use on tons of different chassis with just a bracket change.

As a whole package - braking performance, pad support, consumables support, consumables price/longevity/wear-characteristics, etc. - it really is tough to beat the ST40 with 2-piece rotors.

This will sound like a total noob question, but when talking about the Stoptech ST40 and how it has dust boots, does someone have a good pic showing what the dust boots look like on them? Let's just say compared to the Stoptech C43 for instance that have no dust boots.

BBK/Wheel fitment is what makes me apprehensive about purchasing another set of 17x9+62 TRM C3's. They float on Marketplace or S2Ki somewhat frequently but they don't work with BBK's.
The BBK Fitment thread is the best thing that we have. I know of some wheels which are designed to fit BBK's in 17x9+63 sizing but they are forged custom made.
High offset with the clearance for BBK is a mighty tall task to ask for from a 17x9 wheel. I keep on writing letters to SCCA to allow for 9.5" wheels in STR because 9" wheels are uncommon and 9.5's are much much more common and arguably accommodate a 255 tire better.
