Which spring has the best RIDE !

I just ordered some new wheels, Work VX-SS 18x8 + 55F & 18 9.5 +65R. I was wonder which of the three springs Eibach, Tein-S, or Espelir ASD's has GOOD ride Quality. I have used Eibach to lower a 03' model Mustang & I would have say it rode Pretty good. I am just trying to get some info. before I buy & no I am not buying Coilovers. It will not see a Track but from the Parking Lot. Ken

all those springs you mentioned ride nearly the same as stock. you cant even tell the difference besides it being lower. with your situation, its probably best to get eibachs or tein just cause you have 18"s. espelirs may require fender work.

tommygun124 11-13-2009 02:06 PM

I enjoy my Eibachs and they can be had cheap used.

hippo and dog 11-13-2009 02:21 PM

EIBACH!!

havn't ridden any other springs though.

with the eibach, people can't even tell ur car is dropped.

blacktie 11-13-2009 02:22 PM

Tein.

Antonov 11-13-2009 02:24 PM

espelir rides nice

manuelisfun 11-13-2009 02:35 PM

If you really are running 18s like one of the above posters said you do want to go with Teins or Eibachs. Tein has the H-techs which sit a bit higher than the S-techs. Espelirs might be a bit low.

Moddiction 11-13-2009 02:41 PM

I'm sure everyone will just say the one they have haha. I have Eibach and being that is the only one I have used I would recommend them. They do feel almost exactly like stock but lower. Very nice ride imo. Can never go wrong with Eibach Pro kit springs.

s2konroids 11-13-2009 02:56 PM

Swift :)

Crackerballer 11-13-2009 03:23 PM

My espelirs are good, got them for $100 used.

wiley_s2k 11-13-2009 03:23 PM

I have Espelir ASD's and I also have 18's. The ride is similar to stock.

MrBurner 11-13-2009 04:29 PM

i have the espelir's and the rear end is definitely planted better than stock and the car is more controllable. i love the look of the drop and i never have any rubbing issues even with 255's in the back...because it allows for a little more control on the rear end, i can take most turns faster (not just placebo...might also be because of the various sets of tires i've been trying out)...but overall, i've been very happy with the espelir's - i've had eibach's on a previous car and i notice a larger difference in the espelir's on this car than i ever did with the eibachs on the other...the eibachs felt like stock, the espelir's ride like stock but handle a bit better (but they're also the lowest of the bunch)

toyrunner 11-13-2009 06:07 PM

They are not that make lower, are they ?

greenmans2k 11-13-2009 11:41 PM

get the espelir

jdmgpw04 11-14-2009 12:32 AM

get the swift.......

mikesap1 11-16-2009 11:55 PM

hey guys im new member/ owner of a 2000 s2k and im planning to slam my baby..i was wonder are all of you guys running on stock shocks for these springs? and the drop still give you that stock feel? i was thinking about slamming it on the espelir because they seem like the best drop..i want my car slammed!! i got stock 16s what u guys think? any pics by they way with these springs?

R5S2 11-17-2009 05:34 AM

Tein's ride just like stock.

Slick2K 11-17-2009 09:49 AM

Swift

If I remember correctly, Swift sport springs have spring rates that are closer to the stock AP2 spring rates than any other manufacturer. I purchased a set last year and have been very happy with them and the ride quality.

suzukawoods 11-17-2009 11:09 AM

Can these springs be used with stock shocks? How low do they drop?

hellaSleepy 11-17-2009 12:43 PM

which is a trust worthy site to buy brand new Espelir springs from?

mikesap1 11-17-2009 03:06 PM

actually guys..i was looking at the espelir springs and they only give u about a 1 inch drop...i was thinking more of a 2inch drop is what i want...i was looking at the skunk2 springs but i heard they are uncomfortable...are they any springs that gives you a 2 inch drop in the front and a lil over a inch in the baack?

MrBurner 11-17-2009 03:24 PM

whichever site advertises that is just wrong...espelir's have the lowest drop out of the ones you're looking at (and i think most s2k non-adjustable springs)

-jacob- 11-18-2009 12:55 AM

espelir

lowered on 17 regamasters and no fender rolling required... i like the drop... but i just picked up a set of coilovers to go a tad bit lower...

ride is pretty close to stock... smooth...

after it settles... with 17's it had a bout .80 inch gap to be exact...
heres what it looks like right after the install..

i think it should work with 18's..

I don't like Espelirs with 18's - it just doesn't look good. I have espelirs with AP2V1 and it looks great, but they do drop the rear just a tad more than the front.

svencarlson07 11-18-2009 10:14 AM

eibech...i dropped my car and wen i test drove it i didnt even notice any difference

mikesap1 11-18-2009 05:55 PM

i was thinking about getting eibachs springs but the drop is not low enough. yeah espelir sounds like the way to go! how much do espelir springs run for? and do you guys know where i can get a deal on these springs at? im from los angeles by the way...

hellaSleepy 11-19-2009 12:43 AM

^I just ordered them from midwesta, $190 shipped. You could find them in the Suspension & Handling Sponsor section

Mystiqueskillz 11-19-2009 12:58 AM

Swift is like the best of both worlds. It has two spring technology in one.

fasttech 11-20-2009 06:37 PM

im prolly goin to do swift springs or eibach.. i like the nice clean look.. dont want the car slammed ghetto fab

DuckieS2k 11-28-2009 09:38 PM

does lowering your car some how give you camber wheels?
because i noticed my wheels in back are now cambered in the rear.
any of you guys have a similar situation?

Typically it will put some camber in, but also mess with your toe - plus that camber most likely isn't even side to side. Anytime you do suspension modifications, you should get an alignment after the springs settle.

I got Espelirs on my 03 NFR. Rides just like stock as far as stiffness goes. Keeps the back from breaking out as much, main improvement I noticed.

What about these?

jdmap1-rc51 12-05-2009 07:34 AM

i have eibach on 18s x 8.5r (245) and 18 x7.5 f (225), nice drop and rides sitff but smooth, although the rear does rub a lil especially on big dips. All in all, rides like high end stuff, but if you wanna completely close the fender gaps, id recommend coilovers.

iwantyourcar 12-05-2009 09:56 AM

i also think eibach is the way to go, i had tein s techs on my other S, they couldn't even compare to the eibach. with those 18's (i also have 18's) a big issue in terms of ride quality will be what tires you choose

edspecR 12-05-2009 07:19 PM

springs dont effect ride quality.

shocks do

Forbidden-USA 12-06-2009 08:13 AM

Swift Springs

toyrunner 12-06-2009 08:22 AM

I went with Tien S- TECH's, I will see how they are.

shocks do

the hell they dont!! stiffer springs makes for stiff rides = harder bumps feel...

if you get shocks that are valved for harder springs, it'll ride just as good as stock, or better.
