Urge/Ohlins TTX36 Initial Thoughts...
From the start I knew I should be looking at suspension to be more successful on the track. When I finally took the plunge late in 2014, the result was not surprising. It was trans-formative. Although I haven’t had much track time to fine tune, with the help of Patrick (and some dumb luck?) the initial results have exceeded my expectations.
’08 CR Ohlins TTX/12k, 10k/all the bits and pieces/double adj. /Lowered about 1” Hoosier 235/620x17 on CE28x9’s Carbotech pads-10’s and 8’s Adj front sway at 566# -3 camber /0 toe; -3 camber/1/16 total toe in-rear Installation was straightforward. After having the car corner balanced and aligned, I found it negotiated crappy Ohio roads much more comfortably than stock. Starting the adjusters both mid range, at Mid Ohio, lap times were reduced 4% out of the box and the car was very steerable with the throttle. Before an electrical issue at Daytona, I saw 144 in practice and the car was completely controllable in the tri-oval. Not using all the travel, yet, so looking to soften the settings this spring. Shoulda done this a long time ago. Still one of, if not the biggest bang for the buck…with a big tip of the hat to Patrick at Urge who is always incredibly responsive, responsible, and interested. |
I'm jelly. :) The TTX have a level of low-speed control and low stiction that the DFV can't seem to match.
Surprised you're still on those Carbotech 10/8's on slicks! |
4% reduction in lap times!!! HUGE.
That is a lot of value. Only a Supercharger or Stroker short block at around the same cost can reduce lap times by 4%. |
What were your times at mid-ohio after tossing on the shocks and what power mods do you have?
