Yes it will work but it will still be a POS. Hopefully you got it free otherwise why bother.

.....they are pretty much identical radios. The stock HU does suck, though....it is only like 7WRMS, where a typical aftermarket HU is between 17-22WRMS.

Yes it will work, and provide a good bit more power than the 00-01 OEM radio did.

As was mentioned, most any after market radio will have more power than even the 02-03 radio does. You can add the PAC SWI or the Modifry DCI to retain the dash controls.

My 01 came with a free OEM changer and there was not a good and inexpensive SWI back then, so I got a used 02 radio and some Polk EX speakers to upgrade the sound in the car. Both make for a large improvement over the stock 01 system.

thanks for the help. I want to keep the stock radio because of the dash controls. Someone broke in to my car and messed up the radio so I need a new one. I didn't want to buy any extra parts to make it work with the dash controls, and I'm not in to getting an expensive system, I had them in my last to cars and did not think they were worth the trouble. I thought I would be able to get a stock radio cheap. thanks again.

Sorry they messed up your radio - that seems to be the "normal" thing to do: "if you can't steal it, trash it".

You should be able to pick up a used OEM stereo here or fleabay for cheap. I think the same stereo is used in some other Honda models - but I can't remember which ones now

Be sure you get the radio code with the radio.
