Default 05 Center Console Removal

Hey Guys,

I'm trying to remove the center console to install a motion sensor. I'm sure it's pretty easy to do, but I'm just not sure how to go about it without breaking a clip or two underneath.

Do I just pull the two pieces straight out? I tried yanking the padded piece up, although without much force, but it didn't give. I don't see any obvious screws or clips on the outside.

Thanks!

I'm sure you figured this out by now, but you just pull straight up. There are about 8 clip points all around. I started at the arm pad and worked my way forward. GL

don't forget to disconnect the wires from the roof and hazard switches when you get it high enough. Also, you want your e-brake completely up and your shiftknob off.

I think I stretched the e-brake cable(s) by pulling too hard. I'm pissed now.

No. I stretched the cable by pulling upt too hard on the e-brake. I pulled about as hard as I could, and now, with 2500 miles, there's some play in the handle.

Yeah, it's a routine thing. I just don't want them to think I'm abusing my car...it's only got 2600 miles on it.
