Default 06 owners with gears

I was informed by Bob at Modifry that the 06's wiring is different and the yellow box has to be spliced in two different areas of the speed signal wire etc. etc. when installed inside the car. Has anyone taken pics when they installed their yellow box or yellow jacket on an 06. I'm already a little tweaked about cutting ecu wires. Any info would be appreciated.

I believe I was the first MY06 owner with 4.57-R FD and Yellow Box and have been unable to get the speedo to read correctly. I have completely uninstalled the Yellow Box and have decided to "live with" the speedo discrepancy. I plan on upgrading to the R200 diff, which has a FD that is slightly lower than then stock S2000 FD. So, instead of reading about 5% higher, I will be reading a half percentage lower.

Modifry's Yellow Box and it does not work for the reason you stated in your initial post.

So I take it you installed the box in the car near the ECU. Did you attempt to try the install from the sensor mounted at the transmission. I have been told it is easier on the 06's than the other method.

I had my stereo shop install it, and they followed the directions as provided by Modifry (tapping into the wiring near the ECU). The Yellow Box did work off and on.

I have the same issues. I had the Yellow Box installed with the new gears by the same shop. The Yellow Box seems to work about 70% of the time. Mine is installed according to the directions. I am looking for other installation ideas.

When yours is working...and then stops working...does the speedo zero out (say your going 65, does it go down to zero)?

I took mine to a speedometer shop. They said the install was fairly standard. No problems since.
