Default 2-1 USB on a Switch?

So my HU has a single USB that I use for my iPod but I would like to wire it up to a switch (maybe a DPDT DPCO) so I can have another open port so I can use to switch to and from my thumb drive. Now this is a little above my paygrade and I'm stuck, I'm not sure how to wire this up. The USB uses 4 wires Red (PWR) Black (GRND) Green (Data+) White (Data-), but I don't know what switch I need or if I also need a diode.
I have a DPDT Switch that I picked up but not sure if it'ss work
3A 125VAC
1.5A 250VAC T85

It's better to get a mini-hub. A switch isn't going to help you.

I've tried using mini hubs, they get the power needed but the HU does not recognize the devices attached. I have tried close to 10 different hubs (self powered only) and not one of them works.

so instead of unplugging the device you are using and plugging in the other device, you want to be able to just flip a switch?

what headunit is it?

Exactly, I want to mold one more USB and a switch on the passenger cubby for convenience and have the second USB plugged into my iPod and hidden behind the dash. My head unit is the JVC KD-AVX77, I do realize that I will have to power cycle the HU so that it takes the new USB device.

i think the main thing you want to do when switching, is turn the power to the unused USB device off, let me try to draw a diagram of how i think it should go if you have to end up wiring it yourself with a switch

I think I got it figured out, I'm working on the diagram now but I think I need a diode.
