Default 2000 MY 6 disc CD changer

Unit has jammed up and cartridge won't come out (error code E-01)

I'll have to take the unit out and have a look at it. It occurs to me though that maybe there's a replacement digital storage/bluetooth unit that might plug into the OEM changer's wiring.

I like to keep the stock head unit (I have a speaker level amp, crossovers, tweeters and upgraded door speakers all using duplicate wiring that could be stripped out to leave the car as it left the factory so I don't want to replace the stock head unit and I can probably fix up/replace the changer and keep it as a spare to restore the car to factory if I ever need to sell it as such).

I've had a Google around but can't seem to find anything "plug and play".

Any ideas?

They're available. For example look here. https://www.ebay.com/p/1123559988

The remanufactured unit on eBay may be the best option.

Usually, these units don't take well to repairs once they start acting up.

Agreed but just replacing the stuck $90 CD changer in the trunk is dirt simple with a screw driver rather than messing with the radio and wiring.

At one point the cartridge in the cd changer in the NSX wouldn't eject. Don't recall having an error code. I checked NSX Prime and it was suggested to slip a credit card in above the cartridge to release it. It did work for me, so it may be worth a try.

Thanks for the replies guys, I'll try that credit card trick first and I'll maybe buy a recon unit if I need to.

Meanwhile I may well buy a bluetooth cassette which looks like it could pretty much make the CD changer redundant (although I'd like a working unit to keep the car original).

Thanks - they are a bit old now (made in the days before phones took videos!).

Update on this: the thin ruler pushed in above the CD cassette worked like a dream, great tip ^
