I was shining the flashlight through the speaker cover and noticed that it is not a cheap paper dome speaker. Mine has a shiny see-through blue (suzuka blue of course ). While browsing I noticed that other members mentioning of the paper kind stock speakers.

Has anyone made an aodio quality comparison between the 2002 and the other MYs of s2k?

MY2002 has upgraded audio system, including speakers. They are not the cheap paper anymore, however not the greatest as well. IMHO, they're only worth upgrading if you want to replace the head unit as well. I think the stock head unit and stock speakers are "made for each other". When i upgraded my speakers to Focals they sounded terrible (worst than stock) till I replaced the head unit as well. Now they sound great!

You have to remember that the 02 deck is driving tweets as well. I would just recommend adding rears if you don't plan on changing the head unit.

Was thinking about doing door speakers in my 02 also. Is there a crossover in the door for the factory setup? Can I use any speaker I want and still have the factory tweeters work?

I know in integra the x over is part of the tweeters and not a separate box. Chech the tweeters carefully. I think the head has one output for each side to the line is shared until inside the door.

The crossover is probably just a capacitor in series with the tweeter. You could re-use the tweeter if you wanted to. I have no idea if it will sound good because I have not heard the stock tweeter yet. Best bet is while you are replacing the woofer might as well change the tweeters and only disassemble the door once.

Just my 2 cents.

Would you use a 2way or 3way way speeker with the factory tweeter setup and replace the tweeter?
