Default 2002 Tweeter Pods

Has anyone replaced the factory tweeters with aftermarket ones? If so, has anyone modified the pods for a better direction? Has anyone thought of changing the angle of the pods for better sound?

That does look good. I had never even thought of removing the top of the tweeter pod? Did you install yourself?

Yeah you have to use a dremel type tool to get the center out but its fairly easy. I'd be happy to do it for you if you'd like. You will need to make sure that the tweeters you have or will be purchasing have a "cup" for the tweeter to sit in. I have some other pic's of how I did it. Let me load them up and I'll post them.

Simply stated. . . woof!

Okay, is the aluminum ring part of the OEM or Alpine? How did you remove the perforated OEM tweeter cover? I'm a week or so away from an install. Any and all info will be appreciated.

They "aluminum" ring is oem. But it is just painted plastic. I'm loading pic's of the back side, to show you how I did it.

Ok here you go:

These speaker are Alpine SPX-177A's, they come with a few different styles of mounting hardware. But they fit great into the hole. If I didn't know better I'd say Alpine made them for our car.

Woof is a VERY good thing. Not to sound sexist but, when I see a good lookin woman I usually mutter "woof" under my breath.. Doggy breath that is. Now, if my wife is in the car I just think it. Capiesch?(sp)
