Default 4 channel bridgeable amp recommendations please

Here's what I'd like to do.

Focal seperates up front with 100 watts of power to each.

WLaurent sub enclosure in passenger rear with 200 watts of power to it.

Can anyone recommend an amp that has a built in crossover that can drive this setup? The power ratings don't have to be exact, but you get the general picture of what I'm shooting for.

Small size and lightness would also be secondary considerations.

Thanks guys!

Rob

Hi Rob,

I've been lookin for a new amp myself (want it to sit inside the spare)... The only one I've found that has 4x100 AND fits inside the spare tire is the blaupunt PA4100(http://www.blaupunktusa.com/amps/pa4100_features.html). Should be apretty good amp, but I couldnt find any review of it on-line. You should be able to get it for about $290 + shipping over the internet...

Hope that helps,

-- Robert

P.S. if you just want a really cheap (read sh*tty) amp check out:

Tons of junk for great prices!

Sure, 3 channel amp sounds fine with me. Any suggestions on that either?

Goldtrom, what I plan to do is move the tool kit from the trunk well to the inside of the spare tire. I have heard of this being done by carving out a block of foam.

Then, I will install the amp inside the trunk well, in place of the tool kit.

Just something to think about.

Goldtrom, that Blaupunkt amp is really interesting. Does anyone know anything more about this technology and if it really works as advertised?

I mean a 400W amp that weighs only 5lb is simply amazing, and perfect for what I am looking for.

I am skeptical, of course, but would like to know more about it.

The blaupunt PA4100 is excellent. I have one mounted behind the trunk carpet in my RSX. If you take off the outer plastic 'shell', its about 10in x 11in and about 2.25in tall. It never gets hot.

I have the PA4100 in my S2000 (for two weeks now) and so far I love it.

I am using it to drive Rockford Components in the front and a pair of 8's in trunk (using the bass boost gain control on the rear channels that go to the sub).

The coolest thing about this amp? Take it out of the plastic casing and it fits under the passenger seat

I'm running a soundstream RUB600 75x4 RMS with the WLAURENT sub, and 6.5 eclipse separates in the front... Sounds great and has a load of crossover features on it...its a bit of a surfboard though - but works fine mounted in the trunk well. Its got enough power to be painfull with minimal distortion
