Basically, you need to rip the DVD to a raw file on your drive. Then you need to transcode it to MP4 format. Videora is a good choice for that. (A quick google search for videora is in your future.)
Then you can add the video through iTunes and sync it up.
Widescreen movies are too small on the iPod screen. Full screen stuff is pretty nice. An easier and faster way to get video content on your iPod is Podcasts. Check out the iPod store through iTunes and you will find free downloadable video podcasts. Search for "VOD Cars" through iTunes.

Thanks for the help. I went with cucusoft, and dondloaded it from the site for $30. It is very easy to use and fits the video the your screen so wide screen movies fill out the entire ipod screen.
