What are your goals with the system? The chances of you noticing the difference are pretty slim. I have tested my sub boxes and honestly if you use my box and the amp offered... you can park the car in the garage and feel it outside .. the garage that is

Fwiw I have an 8" in a W Laurent box on the passenger side and a mild power bump from an amp, and the system sounds great and there's a little vibration feel in the back of my seat. I'd imagine that more power will just improve the feel and give you good sound since the S has no sound deadening in it - its not like you have to fight through a sound-proofed trunk. Also, using the bottom of the trunk for a speaker will limit the trunk much more than filling the side or sides with subs.

I want a mild bass setup that will make rock hit hard and rap/hip hop thump a little. I'm more into the punch then the boom if you follow me...

A properly tuned 10" sub from the group buy will give you what your after. In your case I would get the 600 series sub. It will match up best with the amp in the GB and you'll get what your after. Then you can adjust the bass up or down to your liking depending on your mood.

I realize you have a bias but how does the setup you just outlined compare with a side mounted 10" such as the WLAURENT setup?

Please don't think I'm that biased. I have great respect for William, and I think his product is great. I respect him enough to not offer that type of product.... wow.

All that said The difference between the 2 in a lot of ways are more about space. They both sound great. What your asking is very hard to answer really. Its very subjective to the HU used, the amp used, the tuning that was done and so on. If you like the side wall setup designed then buy Williams he makes a great product
