Default adapting 98+ in dash changer to pre 98 head?

Is this possible through an adapter of any kind or is the correct din plug going to have to be spliced in for it to work?

Lady came by work and wants to use both items, and Ive never come across a situation like this so I told her Id research it a bit to help her out.

The headunit has the standard honda din input and the in dash 6-cd changer has the newer (98+) plug style.

seems pointless to me but her father gave it to her and he recently passed, plus shes extremely hot so I offered to help out if I can.

I remember how the old Alpine changers would plug up to a honda stock head with the correct adapter...just wondering if anyone has done the above or knows of any such adapter.

Thanks

Wait you know everything already and your the wiring master because you never make mistakes... and now here we are, you asking for our help... interesting.

It would also help if you gave us all the information.

Just so I understand you correctly Your trying to install a factory indash CD changer into some Honda that is only a single DIN size??? And your not sure if there is an adapter to install it into the car? Is the Indash unit a HU as well or just a standalone changer?

Try it this way:

Car:
HU:
Changer:

Oh and just because its possible to do something doesn't actually mean you should... You could just get her an updated HU so the thing will plug right in. It most likely would cost the same. You can get the HU from a local Salvage yard.

By DIN he means the round plug, kind of like an old PC keyboard.

Darkness, your speaking privelages have been revoked again.

You can have them back when you stop misquoting me

and the honda head is single din, the in dash honda changer is single din, but the
plugs are different. The pre98 is a din style and the post98 is a plug style.

Instead of having to splice the wiring in, it would be easier if there were a plug in adapter...I wasnt asking how to do it, I was asking if anyone knew of an adapter like this.

I already offered her a 98+ Honda deck I had lying around the shop that would plug right up after the 98+ style factory honda radio harness was attained, but she wanted to keep everything she had because her father gave it all to her and he passed...sentimental(sp) value I guess.

Yeah whatever... careful or I'll get you login privelages revoked again... for like the 4 or 5th time...

I would think you could just call Metra, DEI or some other adapter company and ask them... you do work at CC.
