Default Adding rear speakers not a good idea for going all-out?

I did a search and read some posts from people saying that you shouldn't add rear speakers if you're going to go all-out on your system. Are there any reasons on why you should just get good front components and forget about the rear speakers? Thanks in advance.

I agree with ukliam. My fader is set for heavy front-bias as well, and I really like the sound.
