I will be purchasing my 04 S in 2 weeks and trying to choose options. So the question is, are the headrest speakers worth it? And is there a site that list dealer option prices? I checked kbb.com, edmunds, carpoint and vehicx.com and for the 04 S they have no prices on options.

Thanks

They're basically around $500 MSRP. You can probably get them for a little less, but they're not worth it. If you don't mind buying custom parts, the S-Pods come highly recommended by many S2K enthusiasts.

The s-pods allow you to choose the speaker components you put in them. They look better than the '04 headrest speakers, and sound A WHOLE LOT better. The stock headrest speaker is made up of two four inch cardboard drivers that sound awful. Get the s-pods and a decent pari of components and you might actually save money whilst achieving a better result.

I agree with all of the comments above, the Spods are a high quality aftermarket part, and you can buy the pods + high end components for less than the dealer is asking for the cheesy stock set-up.
