Default AEM 1052U harness question

In this picture, what is the black wire harnesses?

When I got my 1052U, it never came with those wires? I assume wideband? maybe?

So I have it all installed, but that plug connector has nothing plugged into it on mine.

Help would be awesome.

Correct. You got a 1052U brand new in box but didn't receive the O2? Or you bought the 1052U used and they didn't supply you with the O2?

The "black connector" you are referring to should fit into the only open slot on the EMS once its plugged into the ECU/wideband. There should be no wires coming from this connector. You have to manualy PIN the sensor wires into the connector if you want extra sensors beyond the OEM supported ones.

Your ECU plugs in on one side of the ems and the wideband I believe is on the other end (same end as the serial port, I think).

I tink the black connector you are referring to is for additional functionality beyond the wideband and OEM sensors. I believe you had to plug the older stand-along wideband drivers into this plug, but it now has a dedicated clip on the EMS now.

I didnt receive any black cabled 02 sensor when I purchased my 1052U 2nd hand out of Hawaii.

I have the serial port, and another plug hole on the same side yes, but I have nothing plugged into the non serial port plug since I never received the plug to connect into it. Do I need it?

I've just seen a couple for sale, and they came with the black 02 senor cables? Something mine never did.

See, mine was originally just a 1052, however, it was sent back to AEM, who upgraded it to a 1052U.

Yeah, the plugs for the o2 sensor are completely different between the 1052 and the 1052u. If your wideband sensor cable is for the 1052, it will NOT work on the 1052u.

I am kind of confused as to what you are asking...

Either the sensor plug fits or it doesn't. If it doesn't, you need to get the 1052u connecotr cable.

What is the part number on the cable you currently have (the one between the sensor and the EMS unit.. the one that is supposed to plug into the ems)?

I had an identical problem (my 1052u came with a 1052 connector cable... had to swap it out for the right one).

I don't have any 02 sensor cable.

Just the ECU itself.

SO the wideband pigtail is not plugging into the cable that is connected to the ems port? For the 1052 wideband, I think a driver needs to be installed between these two cables. No need for the driver with the 1052u. You cannotjust eliminate the driver, you will also need a new cable.

Black wiring harness is the cable that connects to the EMS. I think you need a 1052u version.

If you have no wideband cable, what is in the picture, plugged in the EMS? That cale should go from the EMS, and plug directly into the wideband sensor pigtail. If the pigtail and the cable don't want to go together, you have the 1052 cable. The wideband setup for the 1052 has another cable that goes from the driver box to the sensor pigtail. I think that is the one you are "missing", but it would be useless anyway, as you do not have the external driver unit t plug it into (and don't need one, as the driver is now internal.

I will post the correct cable part # you need, and the one I think you have currently, when I get home to my computer over lunch (this is from my cellphone ).

That's not a photo of my ECU, its just a photo of one for sale locally.

I also noticed the black 02 sensor pictures in another 1052U sale in the classifieds, and it was pictured with the black 02 sensor too, hence why I'm so curious if I do need it or not.

I purchased a 1052U + all software + serial cable. Nothing else.
