so one of my friends gave me a deck after I got my car and after about a month in the "multi-control" knob breaks! The inner part that attaches to the deck itself broke somehow and now I'm forced to use the remote to operate anything on it. Does anyone know where to get a replacement? or a quick fix for it?

oh and the deck is a Pioneer DEH-5900IB

 

I looked around and could not find the knob for that deck carried by anyone these days. The DEH-5900IB is relatively old and can be found on eBay for around $80 shipped. The knob is just over $20 + Shipping (if you can find it) so it doesn't make sense to spend any more attempting to repair it. If it's any consolation, it looks like a design problem as other owners have the same problem.

yea i found some online before i posted but $20+ for a small knob is pretty ridiculous if you ask me... i was hoping someone would know of a better place.
