Alarm stopped locking doors - fix?
My Compustar just started this. I arm the alarm and it will arm, roll up the windows (DEI), and make a noise like locking the doors, but they won't lock.
If I lock the doors, then arm, it will unlock the doors on disarm.
Any idea what I should do to get it working again?

Yes, I went and used it to lock the doors, then back to the alarm fob, and now it works. Go figure.
Maybe the alarm brain had a brain fart and forgot how to work right, lol...
well it would depend on how they installed the Keyless portion of your alarm.
There is two ways to connect a keyless entry on an S2000.
Method one: insert lock & unlock wires into empty slots on the OEM keyless module. (its possible one of the wires came out and shorted something out. So a fuse could be blown)
Method Two: 5 wire the OEM lock motors. This method interfaces the lock motors directly and if something in the relay failed it may cause your locks to stop working entrily since it would prevent power from being delivered to the lock motors.
I am curious if the lock motors actually attempted to lock but it simply didnt work (similar to what happens if you leave the door open and try to lock the doors) or if you could hear the relay click (from the alarm brain) but nothing happens.
I'd be happy to check it out for you. Just give me a ring or stop by when you have a chance.

I'll have to give you a call GMK. Today the trunk button in the car stopped working too. The Compustar fob still operates the trunk fine.
So now, when I go to lock the car, I hear a noise like an attempt at locking the doors, but they don't lock. Everything else works fine - it arms, windows go up. If I reach in and lock the doors, then arm, they stay locked. When I disarm, the doors do unlock.
The OEM fobs used to lock/unlock the car and now they don't work at all.

Saki,
My OEM alarm on my 2000 does similar things occasionally
!
If I unbolt the seat and reset the switch on the unit (located under the drivers seat)...then it will work...WELL...at least the door and trunk fob buttons work.
For about the last year the alarm will not go off when I open a door or the trunk, but will wait until I'm in the car and put the key in the ignition...then it goes crazy
.
Maybe, your unit is about to go stupid like mine has

I know on the DEI alarms you can program the duration of the lock/unlock power time.
If your alarm was installed using 5wire, using relays, then it may need to be programmed for longer? .. or program was set for too long and may have burned out the motor to the point where OEM model settings not enough to full lock?
You really have to test the module though.
