Anyway.....I also replaced the RCAs in my car with some heavily shielded RCAs.....

NOw...you ask arent all braider RCA cables created equal???

Answer.......hell no. These RCAs a a bit thicker than 4 gauge power wire.

OLD.

NEW

Hooked up...

RCAs are crystal clear.....no one peep of any interference.

Some comarison shots.....
I loved the Alpine...fantastic subwoofer, very clean, reliable, and inexpensive....I would recommend it any day of the week.

Not much bigger in the photos, but in person, the weight difference is evident.

Magnets

Cones....The rubber is like 2.5 inches thick

Anyway.....installed the sub....and Holy mother of god I havent heard bass that loud in a long time. However.....we all know I hate ghetto bass, but it was SO clean.....I was amazed.

Sub performs incredibly with low frequencies, and has great recoil for Rock and electronica.

The quality is incredible...from the machining, to the paint, to the assembly....beautiful. Im gonna redo my who trunk just so that I can show that baby got back...
The sound is better than the Alpine, tighter, less drama, louder, and cleaner.

Overall, an amazing sub....not regrets, no complaints, just a stupid grin from ear to ear.

As always, questions and comments welcome!

NFR - thanks for the update/photos. I was trying to figure out what the difference is between the 800 series and the 600 series -- I'm thinking about putting the 608 in a WLAURENT box. Do you think the 608 will have the same characteristics as the 800 series? Yours is rated at 800 Wrms...how much power are you sending it?

Any shots of it in your car?

Also -- it looks like you replaced the std. knukonceptz RCAs with the Karma Kables?

Really nice.

^Yup yup....I replaced them with their best RCAs.....

As for the sub....the 600 is nice as well, I just needed something that will be more upgradable later down the road, and can take more power.

I have about 430 going to it right now.

Ill have pics of it installed for you tomorrow or saturday.
Thanks for the compliments

The bottoms "easy on the eyes". I think you should mount it as "down firing" so you can enjoy the view of the bottom. Oh, forgot, it would probably blow the bolts off your gas tank. Can't be hav'in no S2K fire ball.
