Default Alpine 9835 question

Just got this headunit.
I put a mp3 burned cd and it gives me title, cd name, song name, etc.
I bought a cd from the store JZ Black Album and the screen just says NO TEXT

That normal for a $500 unit?

Yes, it means that the CD has no text information on it.

Just hit the text mode button (bottom right corner) to go to the track time or whatever.

Yes, this is normal. There is no CD TEXT info. MP3s have ID text so you have to hit the text botton again. CD TEXT is a information for Audio Cd manufactures to use, not us normal types.
