Default Alpine 9857

Anyone know when the 9857 will actually be in stores?

I went to my usual shop (friend from high school owns it) and had to educate his salesman on the full-speed connection. He didn't even know that there was a 9857 model.

I need to play with it and the full-speed connection before I commit to it.

I am going to go 9857 because of the wired remote option (plug and play DCI)

In SoCal if you know of a shop that has one.

Thanks,
Rad

Dont quote me on this, but I thought Modifry came out with a wired DCI that was compatable with IR model HU's. He offered for me to change my IR DCI for my 9851 for a wired one for like $40. It just plugs into the 3.5mm jack on the back of the unit. (Not sure how it works, or if I am even recalling correctly, but I think you can get a wired DCI for an IR Alpine HU).

I pre-ordered one from Crutchfield, it's supposed to ship out around 10 March.

Which version of the DCI do you have?

I have a 9856 and the Modifry IR DCI and it works perfectly.

Yeha mine actually works perfectly with it; the IR thingy wasn't in the right place!! In fact I took the harness wired up and connected to my 9813 and plugged it into the 9856 and it all worked...I didn't even have to rewire it! Now all I need to do if figure out how to make the Ipod Cable and connection stealthy...any ideas there guys?

i have the 9856 in my 4Runner. it is bad @ss. i have the cable routed to the glove box - but there's plenty of cable, i could have routed it to the center console if i wanted to.

i want to go 9857 in the S2000, only because of the nicer display that i'll probably never see, and i think it has built in bluetooth.

i'm going to be browsing the forum to clarify the Infrared DCI install before pulling the trigger on this
