Please post your experiences. It would make me very happy to think I was able to help you do cool stuff.

No I haven't bought the parts yet.
I can help you tune your HU if you want to come out to the house this Saturday afternoon. I'll be there working on my S, so I'll be around.

Jake is my partner in our business. He doesn't have an S. You met him at Jeff's house last season.

[QUOTE=Otter,Feb 6 2005, 08:01 PM] On equipment, it wasn't much.
- Sound card was a little over $200. While this sound card performs very well, I think any decent sound card would do the job. I did a loopback on my laptop's internal sound card, and it wouldn't do. So, you need something decent, but what I have is likely overboard. I have a ESI waveterminal 24. Just do a search on nextag.com for waveterminal.
- Laptop. It is convenient to use a laptop, but not really required. It just saves lugging a desktop to your car and eliminates possiblities of ground loops (I couldn't test with the ac adaptor plugged into my laptop -- it hummmmmed). No computer, let's say $700. You have to have a computer to be an admin

just so i am clear - i should remove all the crossovers i have already and wire them up to the headunit so that i can use the digital crossovers ??

here's what i have (currently playing with the Ipersonalize thing at alpine)

2 diamond hexs up front (tweaters in the factory location)
2 diamond m3s in Mark's S pods
one 12 inch JL in the trunk well

and all this is feed with an Alpine MRV450 amp

any suggestions on where to start with the Ipersoanize

(john please tell me we (notice i typed we ) don't have to run all the speaker wires back to the head unit

Steve,

No just to the amp! You should be running a 3 pairs of RCA's from the headunit to the amp. One pair for the front speakers, One pair for the S-pods, and one pair for the sub.

I believe you will also keep the crossovers wired so that only the highs go to the tweeter and the lows go to the mid bass. You will still use the crossover settings on the 9835 to fine tune the system even more. The 9835 is very tuneable. I learn something new every time I play with it.

Boo. Anyone want to help me do this on my 25 band EQ? It's so daunting I've never even activated that part of my HU's menu
