Default Alpine CDA-9883 / Modifry DCI / Stock Speakers

So my ctock CD player died after 7 years of use - somewhat understandable...
i kept reading about how much better an aftermarket HU will make everything sound, so I got the Alpine CDA-9883 - the SHIT SOUNDS HORRIBLE!!!
I do not consider myself retarded, but I cannot tune this piece of crap
the factory HU was simple, and worked well with the OEM speakers; this m'f'ing crap makes my ears hurt (from the super high frequencies?)

so for bass:
you pick 1 band to focus on? for some reason you cannot set strengths for 80/100/200/60 individualy?

for treble:
again you can only tune one frequency... W.T.F.!!!???

WHERE THE F%$# is the mid? i gather you just tune around it? that is retarded!!!
the stock HU sounded much better!! i could crank that up, and my ears were okay; this alpine POS makes them hurt... a stock accord system sounds better

how do you guys tune yours?

Well it all depends on the model deck. You can't just buy any run of the mill deck and by happy with it.

My alpine is great and has awesome tuning The model is CDA-9831. It's an old model but it's back from when Alpine made filthy decks.

I can tune each frequency individually just like you are looking for. Although with the stock speakers I am not sure how helpful it would really be.

well, to "adjust" your mids, set the lows and highs ...

ie, if you want boosted mids, lower lows and highs, so the mids are relatively boosted

of course, if you do the opposite, you may run into distortion

but anyways, yes that model is limited to 2 bands of tuning

"Adjusting" stock speakers in a convertible will not yield a WTF to WOW difference. If the sound is that bad, something might be wrong.

Stock speakers are now your limitation... Not much improvement over stock will be noticed because of these speakers. Not to mention you have the MY00, which has PAPER speaker cones, and to tell you the truth, I am SHOCKED they are not blown after 7 years too...

FAQ IS YOUR FRIEND!!!!! THERE IS A WHOLE THREAD ON HOW TO TUNE YOUR SYSTEM!!!

PJK3 breaks it down so a can do it.... And the bass focus only really helps if you have a sub... Just FYI...

YEAH... but

the stock speakers sounded okay with the OEM HU

now they suck with the Alpine - I get it... the stock stuff was designed to work together, BUT THIS STILL SUKKKZZZZ!!!

I already have a nice set of Pioneers that are going in soon; hopefuly they will help - one thing that sucks is that the Pioneers are 50W nominal / 180W max; does this mean that the 18W RMS / 52W max Alpine is not enough to make them work normaly?

installating a decent aftermarket deck onto stock system shouldnt make it sound bad... it should sound slightly cleaner

otherwise, you probably did something wrong
