Man, I just found out alpine has the 9887 coming out. Has built in eq and timing control functions that the older alpine models had such as the 9835. Freaken A, just got a cda-9857. =/

Dude, dont worry, and enjoy what you have. Youll never catch up to this game. Every 10 minutes there is a new unit. After I bought my alpine monitor, a new one was released that was 1/2 and inch bigger, and had bluetooth.

 

unfortunately, it doesn't appear this HU will support the USB interface for ipod... you'd think that once they developed it for the ida-x001, it wouldn't be too hard to implement it on this one being released later. sure it won't have the album art, but i'd much rather use the burr-brown d/a converter in the HU than the one in the ipod itself.

i'm still leaning towards the ida-x001, as i just think navigating the ipod will be far easier with that screen layout. thoughts? eq options really valuable in our car?
