Default Alpine CDE -HD148BT + SPS-610C Speakers

Hi All,

I just wanted to post this, as I see many people asking about a great audio system without having to spend a lot of $$.

This is my current set-up that I just installed and I couldn't be happier:

Headunit:
Alpine CDE-HD148BT ($249)

Speakers:
Alpine SPS-610C 6-1/2" 2-Way Component Car Speakers with Poly-Mica Cones ($129)

I was able to get both for $350 from PC Richard.

These speakers are literally plug and play and only require the supplied mounting ring to provide enough clearance from the window.
Also, by removing the metal bracket from the OEM tweeters and super gluing to the back of the Alpine Tweeters, the installation was flawless.

First Impressions:
The sound quality is great, a 500% improvement over stock. The Highs are crisp and the mids provide some decent body to the music. I will say if you're looking for lows, a subwoofer is MUST. (This will be my next purchase in the future).

With the top down at 70mph I can have the volume up around 19-21 and the music is very crisp with no distortion. (I'm no audio geek, but to me it sounds great)
(I DO NOT HAVE AN EXTERNAL AMPLIFIER, FYI)

All in all I would HIGHLY recommend this setup for anyone looking for an entry level upgrade to their OEM System.

Awesome, I'm looking into some upgrades, not quite sure what to do yet. Something I'll consider since it sounds like a good fit.

I don't, but if you have any questions just shoot me a PM. It's very straight forward.
