Default Alpine DVD 1-Din Navigation Comming??? --Check this out!

Here's the news!---I was in New York City this week and I decided to buy a magazine called CAR from the Uk. Any way I looked thru it and found an add selling Alpine's new 1-DIN NAV Well I went to their Europe site and WOW! Goto www.alpine.com and click on the Europe location. The unit is called INA-N033r DVD Navigation and Audio System. The map graphics are ike that on the 7998. I am going to call Alpine and find out if this will be available in the US--Lets hope! Check the pics out --they are sweet!

That's pretty cool. Nifty and convienient for s2k drivers *especially those who don't want to cut up their dash*...but i think i'd still opt for the traditional navo w/ an lcd mounted to the dash.

I would def. get that unit if it were available in the US . How come europe always gets all the cool stuff . Well anyways if i were you i'd just get the 7998 now instead of waiting to see if that unit comes to the states, i just ordered my 7998 from my installer yesterday, gonna get it installed next week hopefully. My setup is actually pretty simple Alpine 7998, Alpine 6.5 coaxial type-r speakers in the doors, Alpine MRV T320 amp, & an Alpine SEC-100S alarm to top it off, dedicated Alpine system , i'm hoping this setup sounds good

I just bought one unit and will receive it in one week.
I have to find out if it is possible to use the US DVD.
If anyone has one please let me know if it is possible to check with the Alpine US NAV DVD.

I would just like an organic display like the 7998 in a 1-din application.

I have a feeling Alpine is going to be coming out with a new model to replace the 7894 very soon. The price of that model has been in a tailspin and I have seen them on Ebay for 289...

Theres a website you can buy this HU. Im just wondering if you can still close the cover to hide the unit when you park. But this HU looks pretty cool.

Only thing is you will need a US DVDRom, they only sell it with European roads.

Will ship to US. What is the conversion?

The price is about $1950 for this unit.
I talked to someone and he told me that I can burn my own DVD with the Europe Nav DVD and use only the US data from any Alpine DVD Nav unit. I will check it out and post the result.

Thanks for the link 2Ting . The only reason i would think of purchasing this unit is for the navigation, sky-chicken do you really think that we will be able to use the navigation feature for roads here in the USA? Seems like things start to get alittle complicated since this unit was solely marketed for European drivers. If their is a way to use the navigation feature for US roads please let me know as i will then ditch my 7998 & amp & run this unit which has an internal amp to power my drop-ins. I would asume that this unit also has a clock? Also for the navigation feature do you have to mount a special antenna to the car or does it pick up signals off our stock antenna? Sorry about all the questions, sky-chicken if you could please keep us up to date on this unit that would be great
