I have an eclipse 2494 in my truck and the nav dvd must be ejected to watch a movie. I think the 5435 is the same. the 5495 has a hard drive which I believe can store your route.

 

oem manufactures also use the eclipse model. the double din unit has the same brains as everyone of the toyotas and lexus cars. Toyotas have the most reliable electronics in thier cars, I think that says something about thier choice in nav providers. most everyone in europe uses Alpine, bmw bently rolls. I would recomend trying before you buy.
