Default Alpine iDA-X100 - Help

Hey guys, i was looking at buying one of those factory ipod integrators to factory radio. But started thinking about it, why not spend little extra and buy nice headunit for a bit more that uses ipod.

Will the Alpine iDA-X100 still use the dash controls on the side as normal? Do i need special harness or what? I have an 04 s2k.

I tried searching and reading up the FAQ, but it kinda confused me about the dash controls. My main concerns with dash control is volume, mute, and channel to change song or station.

you need some sort of dash control interface (DCI). There are two
popular ones - a universal one made by PAC
http://www.pac-audio.com/,
and an s2000-specific one from Modifry
http://www.modifry.com/products/dci/index.htm.
PAC a little cheaper, Modifry better (more features).

I came to the same conclusion and ordered an x100 yesterday and a DCI from Modifry.

Looking forward to finally having a decent HU in the S2000.

Oh, check out the wiring harness from modifry too... makes for a quick, clean install.

I have this unit as well, love the unit but I am having issues with Ai-Net interface. I have the sirius radio module connected through the Ai-Net but the radio doesn't see the Ai-Net. Other then that I love this radio I have a jump drive, ipod connected through the high speed cable and soon sat. radio when this issue gets sorted.

I haven't come across any reported issues with Sat radio - have you hooked up the sat receiver to another system to make sure there is no problem with it?

Yes it does. Also it give you the ability to add features to the dash if you want by combining button actions. Go to the web site to see all the details and the compatibility list with HUs. There should be no issues with Alpine.
