Default Alpine speakers behind the seats

Has anyone tried to install Alpine's 5 1/4" speakers in the Lucid pannels? The Alpine dimensins are the same as the Kenwoods.

I too would like better quality speakers than what Lucid is selling. It seems to me that the stumbling block is the size of the magnet. If we knew the model number of the Kenwood speakers Lucid is using, we could do a side by side comparision for fit.

It's quite a stumbling block. I BARELY fit 4" speakers in there. There is no room for error in cutting those panels to fit right.

I would also like to know if there is enough room for the 5 1/4 Alpine separates to fit back there.

Actually, there's room for 6 1/2" speakers back there. I found some good quality speakers with small magnets. I just finished installing them and they sound good. Now I need more power so I guess I have to bite the bullet and get a new HU.

Tell us, What did you get? Can you put the seat all the way back?

Cheers

Kenwood KFC xr600. 45 watts RMS, 180 watts peak. They have very small magnets and are light as a feather. Even with the deck's amp, they fill the rear nicely. I'll try to post pics tonight or tomorrow.

Woodson, Did you cut you pannels or buy from Lucid? Give us the details please as I'd like to add rear speakers very soon. Thanks

I cut them myself, but bought the rear harness from Lucid. I made a template out of thin cardboard, traced the template for the speakers onto the panel and cut the panel with a jigsaw. BTW I paid $270.00 CDN for the speakers.
