Default Alpine system

Well guys,

Need some opinions and maybe some help...

Projected items that will go to my s2000...

Head Unit - Alpine 9885 Head Unit (already installed) with Ipod Cable

PDX 4.150 4 channel amp - paid - on its way

PDX 1.600 mono amp - paid -on its way

Alpine B200 Blackbird - paid - on its way

JL stealth Sub - pending from another member

Speakers -

Torn between the Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1($150 bucks from best buy).

Alpine Type X 6.5 (since everything is alpine) and have heard good reviews about it
$399

FOCAL K2P (heard it at my local Cartunes) They sound phenomenal. $699 online

Other than that thats it for my system...

Keep in mind i am only running a two speaker in the front. Unless i get the s-pods or rear speakers... any input would help...

im also thinking is it necessary for my to have a mono amp if i only using two speakers out of my 4 channel amp.

OR can i bridge 150x4 into 300x2 each.

I was actually amazed with the rms on the alpines... a friend of mine has a 4.100 pdx and on the birth certified it says 131 rms per channel... are this accurate?
his 600 mono amp is rate at 731 rms. insane...

well you guys are the experts i am just a novice with a craving for a good sound system.

Thanks for any input or help...

I've got the older version of Alpine's amp (PDX 4.10) and I run the Focals and a sub. After trial and research I feel that I don't need the extra amp. I'm also only running a small 10" sub.

So your saying return/dont buy the pdx 1.600

I ordered the PDX 4.150, which was originally my choice was to do use the 2 channel for the focals or alpine components and bridge the two for the sub. I was just confused since someone told me not to do it that way because its safer to run a seperate subwoofer amp.

Anybody know for sure that the Focals K2P, Alpine Type X or Infinity Kappa Perfects fit in our car?

Thanks,
Wilson

I would just get the Type R's. Perhaps the Focals or Type X would be over kill for an S, no? Then again I have a Spoon exhaust and TP.

I have the Alpine SPX177R components in my car running bi-amped from a 4 channel amplifier. Sounds fantastic. I'd recommend bi-amping the components if you can.

bent240LV I think for just components that should be enough.

Since those pdx 2.150 is really about 165 rms on the alpine certificate on the pdx amps

I`ve been looking at those Type-X speakers and they are 100 rms and 300 peak.

He also recommends those speakers in our car.

After hearing the focal 165 K2P i really like them, but everyone here seems to think that the alpine will be better for our cars. Cause of more power, and fitment to the doors, i wish i could hear the alpine type-x.

I have the pdx 4.150 and one of the guys recommends that it can be bridge to 2 channels to keep 300+ rms for the components. I have the mono pdx 1.600 also. That was my initial set up.

But now i think i might go with the pdx 4.150 and take 2 channels for the components and bridge the other two for the subwoofer. Alot of people are saying that the pdx 1.600 is too much for the JL stealth w3 set up.

Im trying to get clarification with which set up would be best or better . Sounds better and safer for my equipment.

What really is holding me up are my component speakers. Which way to go either type-x or focal k2p.

I'll say it again, if you do decide to go for a 4 channel amp for the components, you'll get better sound bi-amping than you will bridging.

That's 2 channels for the woofers and 2 channels for the tweeters. Twice as much cable admittedly, but well worth it.
