Hey audio experts,

does anyone have any experience with Alumapro woofers? I saw and heard 'em at a local high-end mobile audio place, and they were very impressive. I'm not sure if there is a reasonable application for the S2000...

Thanks,

Ted

Sure have... their high end monster woofer is impressive. It seems though that every manufacturer makes a monster-mother-of-all-sub.

More impressive though, is their Allumacap in 5, 15, and 50 Farad capacitance. These are "super capacitors" that fit in small little boxes and cost much less than their aluminum-can counterparts (on a Farad to Farad comparison only. They are expensive but not given their high capacitance)...

These are COMPLETELY designed for automotive applications...

Because the "little" one is about the same price as a good 1 Farad capacitor I will get one of them...

Dear Lord...the stook would become a subwoofer with wheels. For crying out loud, I've never owned a system that used the full capacity of a ONE Farad cap. I feel sorry for the poor sap who has to listen to that all day...he'll probably get a heartbeat that flows to the beat of Eminem

my friend has an Alumapro Alchemy, and I like it a lot. It is very efficient and pounds very well. It's not as sturdy as my eclipse sub, but for a little more than half the price of the eclipse, it's a good deal I think. I haven't heard any JL products though, so I can't comment on how they compare to alumapro
