Which Amp is the best??
I have a question for all you guys that know wayyy more about systems in the S2k than I do.
I have a stock 02 head unit and want to keep it. I have also changed out the front speakers with Infinity 605c components. I know want to add the rear speaker panels with the with the lanzar neo 5.25 speakers from lucid.
Question is,, what is the best 4 channel amp to push everything?
Any ideas?
Thanks

It depends on what your definition of 'best' is and what 'best fits what you're trying to do'.
If you answer some basic questions, we can come up with a 'short list' for you. What's your ballpark budget for the amp? How much power do you want/need? Where are you considering mounting?
Just to speculate a little (and share my personal favorites
) ... The Lanzar Neo's will handle 100 Watts RMS and the Infinity's are rated at 90W RMS, so something in the 75-100W range per channel is where I would start. I'm running a Blaupunkt PA4100 (100W x 4, http://www.ikesound.com/Prod_Details.asp?Prod_Id=216 ). It's small enough to fit under either seat and is a solid, cool-running amp. I'd also recommend the memphis ST-3004 (75W x 4). JL, PPI, etc all have good reputations, but you'll pay more for their names. In all of the above cases, you will need a line-converter because none of them have speaker-level inputs.

I love it. Good power in a tiny, cool-running package at a great price. All connections are made with quick-release plugs and the HP/LP filters are well-labeled. I don't have a single complaint about this amp. It even comes with two pairs of line-converters.
Well PPI used to be good, till they were sold to DEI (Directed Electronics). PPI amps now are made in Korea, and come off the same line as Directed budget amps. The guy who started PPI went to JL Audio. I think that JL make the best amps.
No dobut, JL makes good equipment. You can't go wrong buying JL, you'll just pay more for it. My personal feeling is that you can get more amp for less money by going with a less mainstream brand. Look at the price for a JL 300/4 and the price of a memphis 3004 -- they have very similar specs and both are rock solid, but the JL is usually $75-95 more expensive.
