Behind the cover there are two horizontal pieces of mdf strips running across, the amp is bolted to them. I could not get the amp completely flush as I wanted it. Its too wide up and down to fit in the hole, so the bottom of the amp is flush with the flat panel, the top is angled out and sticks out about 1/4 of an inch. Oh well.

Nice job. I didn't quite understand the problem you ran into with making the amp sit flush

Yes, that does look like PAS2KNUT's cover.

Yeah its homeboys (PAS2KNUT) amp rack.

Dierk, the height from the floor of the trunk to the roof is like 8-9/16 inches, my amp of course in height is 8-11/16 inches, so it wont go fit straight in, so i had to angle the amp to make it fit. I hope you understand now.

Thanks, pikkashoe. I tend to be a little slow about some of this stuff so please bear with me. The photos show space above and below the amp. That's why I wasn't clear.

Is the obstruction behind the rack (shock tower bar, horizontal cross member supporting the convertible top, etc...)? The screws securing my amp to PAS2KNUT's rack don't go deeper than the rack itself. Maybe that's why my height restriction was less severe?

Anyway, nice, clean looking job.

Dierk, I forgot to clarify that, its the space behind the rack, from the floor to the roof of the trunk area, where the back of the amp would be resting. Its about 1/8 of an inch too small in terms of height. So thats why the top of the amp is not flush with the board. Thanks jim for the comments, not as good as your set up, but I tried. I wish my amp was just a bit smaller in regards to the height. How's the zapco set up going. I cant wait to drop the Sub in already. Still listening to the stock radio and its driving me crazy. 2 more days of work, then I am off for 2 weeks. I will be finishing the install then.
