Default Another use for KY....

Just wired up my amp yesterday, got a tip for all of you trying to get the power wire through the firewall. KY works wonders!

Vaseline is a petroleum-based product, and therefore I highly recommend against using it anyplace there are unknown rubber compounds. KY is very common in the electronics install industry as a lubricant...being water-based, there's no such deliterious effects. AstroGlide works even better and lasts longer before drying out.

I think the KY would dry with signifigantly less residue. Vaseline is destined to remain for quite some time.

You're not dripping the stuff into the radio Vaseline can turn certain rubbers into mush in a matter of hours...notice the wrapper warning against using petroleum-based products on condoms?
