where i live the radio reception is poor and my other cars have larger and even power entenas.

anyone replace the stock stalk with a power antena? if so, which one and exactly how do you do it (power source, etc..) any other ideas? thanks.

 

Our antenna actually is powered, just not telescopic - up/down.

You can use the insight antenna from handaaccessories.com

it is longer.

 

but its ugly. If that doesnt work, try the crv's. it fits too.

so no one is coping to replacement of the antena with a power unit that telescopes, say like on a miata? just buy an antena from an oddessy? that just fits and works better?

 

Did you by any chance replace your OEM head unit with an aftermarket? If you did, did you make sure the antenna amplifier got power? If you didn't, then your reception might be very limited. I find it odd that your reception is that bad. With this amplified system on the S2000, reception should be comparable to the regular mast antennas.
I'm not so sure that a power telescoping antenna would fit in that area anyway.
