any Alarm suggestions?
hey i am new to this part of the forum but i was wondering if it have long time damage to the electrical system with remote starter alarm? any good brand? any thing that i should be aware of? thx in advance
If range is not an issue I would suggest the 2W900FM-AS. It's more reliable than the spread spectrum model. I have the spread spectrum model in my daily driver and I have the FM model in the S2000.

whoa.. someone has a remote-start kit for a manual? Crap.. where have i been.
Does anyone know what the details are as to how they accomplish this? All their website says is "Manual transmission compatible". How does the system know if the car is in gear?
I use to make a contraption to enable remote start in a manual and it was through the use of magnetic read switches. its wasn't the pretiest but it worked. put a bunch of magnets on the shifter and if it was in gear it would disable the remote-start is basically how it worked.
i'm really curious how they get this to work... hopefully someone can chime in.

1. e-brake up, down, up while in neutral
2. push button on remote, car will still be running
3. remove key, car still running
4. close door, and car will shut off
that procedure is recognized by the unit and will ensure proper safety next time u want the car to start
