Default Any directions to building a 8" sub box...

Well, darkside subs says he is not making boxes till further notice on his website. I have emailed him 20 times with zero response back. I love his side mounted box design...but it appears I cant buy one .

So, can anyone suggest a link/website with directions/templetes etc for building my own box in this style? I wish I could buy a prof. made one... but I cant find anyone selling one.

Any help would be great.

Thanks

Have you read the FAQ? Darkknight has an entire DIY on fiberglassing an enclosure.

Thats for the toolwell type sub box. The OP is talking about the ones that mount on the sides of the trunk. I would love to have one of this type too. If you find someone to make them maybe we could get a group buy on them.

It is pretty much the same as that FAQ except that you do it on the side of the trunk. If you search around the net for any custom side trunk enclosure you should be able to find something on the topic... I think the main thing is to use masking tape and do a paper mache type thing, then remove and add layers of fibreglass...

i have thought of making one for resale for a while, a 10" to fit in the driverside corner,

what was this being sold for in the past?

and for the guy who wants a 8" - do a 10", same size box, more cone area and 10's have always sounded better.

also though of building a box for 2 shallow mount 10's or 12's in the package tray under area down into the trunk, spare tire area.
