I counted how many tickets i got from previous years, finally I found I paid over $2000 on "Speeding"....

I am thinking get one radar detector if nesseccary..But I don't know if that thing works? If it coule help( at least I don't need to be worry about the getting speeding ticket next time), then I would like to hear which brand and model you guys currently use and worked as well. ALso I would like to know which brand got the higher reputation on Radar detector manufactories.

For the money, its pretty well established that the
escort passport 8500 is about the best bang for buck. check out some radar detector reviews, i think there is actually a website called
radardetectorreviews.com but it may be a bit different. Another similar radar detector is the new model Belkin radars. I do not know the model number off the top of my head.
If you are really looking for the best, i believe it is the V1 and i think it runs around 500-600. there is one detector above that, but cant remember the name, im sure another member does.

anyways
escort 8500 - about $300 new, you can prob get it for 220 off ebay or even a bit cheaper. Def. get the blue display, it is more visible during day.
Belking- runs about 300 also...
just depends on which look you like better

I have a beltronics 955 and its saved my a$$ so many times its not even funny. I've had it pick up cops from a mile away and it still works in hilly areas. I used to have a cobra and it worked fine for about 3 years then started actin all crazy lol.

just search for one on google or froogle, or check out ebay. ebay is probably your best bet for cheapest

Like all reviews state...as well as our fellow junkies....a few years ago, there was only one radar, the V1...everything else was just a paperweight (I owned 4 different radars before getting a V1)....

Now, there are other good choices. They are great performers, but IMHO, even if just by a little bit, the V1 is still king. The arrows make the difference. Knowing WHERE the radar is coming from is a HUGE advantage. Yes, it is more expensive than the others, but....how many times do you buy a radar? Ive paid for mine 10 times over since it saved me countless times. Really worth the money.

"The good news is, you're more likely to encounter an LZ1 or Pro III in your everyday driving, because of their ease of use, handling characteristics (more like a radar gun), and relative popularity among traffic safety departments." as they said by most command laser which was the police will use is LZ1 and ProIII. and compare V1 and 8500, they both performance almost the same, except V1 could detected where the police come from.

So my finally decision will be 8500... However, Saw there are two color about the detector, anyone knows what is the difference? According the research I did, the blue one is always 30 bucks more than red one?
could anyone tell me why?
