I'm thinking about upgrading from my stock radio to the Kenwood Excelon KDC-X696, which has a front USB and AUX input. If I have anything plugged in, I will not be able to close the radio door. But I can't really leave the door open either because the side of my knee hits the corner of it. Are there any radio bezels available that just replace the door? Or how bad does it look to just remove the door and leave the trim that the door attaches to?

Also, does anyone have this radio? It has great reviews at Crutchfield and seems to do a lot for not a lot of money. Thanks.

 

Get a retractable usb, easy to disconnect and store in your cup holder. The S isn't my daily so it's worth my effort to do this.

honestly i have 2 or 3 usb flash drives with my music on them, they are each like 2-4 gb, and one of them is 8 gb, most flash drives are tiny if you break all of the platic on them, only need the little metal part, just dont lose them haha!

 

I was actually going to plug my iPod cable into it. But it says this radio has bluetooth audio streaming, so maybe I don't have to. My other dilemma is that we are about to have a baby, so I am trying not to spend too much right now. So I was going to wait on the steering wheel button adapter and just use the controls on the radio for now.
