Anyone familiar with the new Alpine head unit with XM?
The local "Tweeter" store has recommended a new Alpine head unit that incorporates XM, and also has an input for my IPOD so he says. He says it will interface with all of the dashboard controls and they will even work the XM. They aslo claim that new doro speakers will sound just as good as adding rears? He proposed a set of MB Q speakers with some sort of sound deadening material in the door to reduce roadnoise and vibration. Total cost $825.00?
Like I said before......this is my opinion, because I have all three, and can give you a real opinion.
I have an MP3 headunit, an MP3 changer in the secret compartment, and XM.
I suggest you get a headunit with mp3, and not XM already built in for a simle reason.....XM is FAR easier to add than mp3. Why do I say that???
The mp3 processors in an mp3 head unit are far superior to the ones available in the changer.....its faster between tracks (instant as opposed to about 3 seconds) easier to navigate, much much faster to navigate, and simply a great thing to have if you have an mp3 collection. So I advise you to get an mp3 head unit, and add XM, rather than the other way.....Just for credit.....
