trunks can rattle like crazy with the crappiest and the best bass.

stopping the rattles is just as much of a function of the trunk, the car, trim panels, etc. as it is the sub. get the bass you want, and we'll help you track down the rattles. Dave and John are quite good at that...

i highly suspect that when i get upgraded, i'll have some new ones to track down...

Hey you figured out the strap :-)

See if you can blow it up so we can harass Ben some more.

yup, strap was no problems once i realized i was supposed to yank like heck on it...
didn't even bother w/ the old bolt, i just replaced it w/ the new one... even nicked my finger on the edge of the sheetmetal back there -- so an appropriate blood sacrifice to the stereo gods was made...

and speaking of blow? i threw in a test tone CD, set volume, and started rolling the gains up a bit... i got a little eager and wowza! bad Philip! talk about some distortion.... i think this sub is a lot more sensitive than the e8A was... not quite as bad as the 11kv2, but...
either or -- i spent a little bit of time setting them, then finished off for the night... i'll probably be tinkering with it for a bit until i get it just right.

Well???? What's the final verdict on this sub?

(I know I've been out of the loop for a while, but I think I'm back for now.... )

I think you could do OK with 300Wrms on the OV or the AW100T.

Unfortunately I do not have a price right now for the OV.11. Hopefully later today.
William,

Your web site shows the price for the OV.11 4 Ohm DVC. Am I correct in thinking this is the version that is 4 ohms per voice coil, equating to 2 ohm in parallel?

Thanks!

Mike

i'd hold off just a little bit though. i'm supposed to be testing out one of the Audiobahn offerings soon, and i'll let you know how it compares.
How much longer should I wait?

I guess after delaying for the past 1.5 years, what's another coupld of months.....

Just out of curiousity, what was your beef with ED? Feel free to PM me if you don't want to go public.

Thanks!

Mike

i'm not sure... it will depend on how soon i get the sub from William. hopefully not as long as it took you to get your e8A. right now, i think i need to contact William to straighten things out, but frankly, i've dropped the ball in trying to juggle the hurricane, family, and a new job.

i'd drag up the post i made a while ago if i could find it... it was actually pretty darn funny... i stumbled across some cheerleader for ED and got to ranting... only to realize later that i was responding to a months old post.

actually -- i just finally got fed up w/ empty promises, delays, delays, more delays, and then not following through...

i don't actually hate ED. that's too strong of an emotion. i still think Ben can make a good product, but i'm no long confident enough in their service or design abilities to feel comfortable recommending them as wholeheartedly as i once did.
if he'd get his stuff together, learn how to keep stock, and then do some more detailed design work, i think he really has some good subs.
