Item 4 in the illustration above is the LCD Assembly, Part No. 78130-S2A-A02 for a 2006 S2000.
This procedure will take about two hours, depending on how much effort is takes to remove the dash panel that surrounds the instrument cluster (that is the most difficult and time consuming task). The first thing to do is remove the entire instrument cluster, which is the assembly of parts 1 through 8. A good guide for this task can be found at www.qube-engineering.com Click on Support to find the instructions appropriate for your model year. Here is the empty spot in the dash with the instrument cluster removed.
The two green connectors connect the cluster to the car’s circuitry. The other connectors are some of those that connect to the dash panel that was removed in order to gain access to the instrument cluster. Once the module is out of the vehicle disassembly is fairly simple. Here’s the module, still assembled, with the replacement LCD Assembly. The LCD assembly is shipped in a sealed anti-static bag. As with all static sensitive electronics be sure discharge your body by touching an electrical ground before handling the device.
There is a protective plastic film on the panel that must be removed before installation. That film is shown partially removed in the photo below. Note which face of the assembly has the film.
There are three screws to be removed, and several clips that are molded into the molding and the frame around the cluster.
In the photo above note the flex cable that connects to the circuit board. Pull the flex cable from the socket in the circuit board.
Next remove the frame around the cluster. No screws, only a few clips.
Remove the clear plastic cover with its attached black frame.
Finally, remove the defective LCD Assembly. The only electrical connection is the flex cable which is permanently attached to the LCD panel.
Install the replacement LCD assembly in the reverse order.

Reason: add photo
For 2006 (and later, I think) all data are stored in the CPU so replacing the LCD does not lose anything except with the module disconnected the clock stops.
Doesn't the "outside temperature gauge" display the temperature of the air in the engine air intake? The ECU needs that data and I think they just made it display on the dashboard as well? (Note the question marks.)
