Default Audio deck options

OK, so I want to get an aftermarket headunit, It needs to have a rear mounted I-pod hookup, I want to be able to close the radio door while using my ipod. I also want to be able to control my ipod from the ipod not from the headunit. and if possible I want to get something that charges the ipod while in use and for the radio controls to be functional as well. Ive searched around on here and cant find exactly what Im looking for so if anyone can point me in the right direction id appreciate it

If you go to Crutchfield site you can input your preferences.

I compare most audio with their specs.
good luck.

There are countless head units that meet these criteria. Anything else that would help to narrow down the options?

I just want a rear usb port and I want to be able to control my ipod from my ipod, I would like it to charge it. Maybe possibly have the display light up amber like the dash as well

Not sure about controlling your ipod through the ipod vice the HU. Also, getting the color you want with the controls you want is tough. Crutchfield is a good place to begin and this is what I got (but feel free to manipulate the choices):

http://www.crutchfield.com/g_300/Car-Receivers.html?tp=5684#&nvpair=AG_Size|FFSingle-DIN&nvpair=FFUSB_Input|Front+and+Rear&o=m&showAll= Y

I control my ipod through my HU and have no problems. It charges the ipod and it connects via the rear and I can get my radio door closed.

I myself have been looking at the Kenwood x995. It was a good list of features and a lot of positive reviews.

I have the Alpine CDA-117, and it meets all of those criteria, EXCEPT the "amber" color, which I think is going to be hard to match with any head unit. But the CDA-117 is an amazing head unit and I would recommended it if you're lenient on the color

The CDA-117 paired with the Alpine Imprint is the best head unit currently available in the U.S. with the exception of the Pioneer DEX-P99RS. I would try not to allow receiver color to be a determining factor for your installation.
