Hey guys,

Looking for some better sound outta my MY04..

The head unit has already been replaced with an ipod compatible one.. I figured I'd go shopping for some speakers.

This is what they recommended:

Focal 165 VRS, price.. $900!!!!

I know I can get them cheaper - but are these the hot ticket?

They are. They work really well. By far the best speakers I've ever had.

 

Ahhh, but you can do much better with that $900...

 

Do they install fairly simply or is there modifications required??

 

is very simple to install, all you need is a 6.5 adapter for the doors,
Why spent so much in speakers? just get infinity kappa perfect 6.1 with a good amp.

sure, but if you spending all that money in good speakers why not get you money worth from the speakers ?

if all you want is is upgrade from the stock one's, go with alpine type r

 

If you don't have a good amp, don't bother with Focal speakers (or any speaker over $200 for that matter). Amp first.

Listen to the speakers if possible. The S2000 has tweeters VERY close to your ears. If a tweeter is at all bright, you will know. For some, that's a good thing. For others, like those who prefer Dynaudio type sound, it can be painful.

If that's all you want then you can do it for MUCH less than $900.
