Default Battery issues

So I seem to have some electrical gremlins in my car.

Its an 06 and I replaced the about 6 days ago, and its dead now. The battery that was replaced died suddenly after about a week of not driving the car, and its the same with this one. When I had the dealership replace the first battery with a fresh oem honda one, they were supposed to do a drain test, which I believe that they did, and found no drain. They were also supposed to do an alternator test, which I do not know if they did or not.

The only thing that is not stock as far as electronics go is I installed an aux input adapter, but that just plugs into the back of the radio, no splicing into a power source at all. But the input was defective (I am a malfunction magnet) and I was going to replace it when I got the new one from the company, about two or three days from now, so its still installed in the car.

When I turn the key, all the lights light up on the dash, albeit with some flickering, and once I push the start button, i get nothing, the lights stay on, but no click or anything.

So I was wondering what y'all might have to say about my little issue.

does it start with a jump?

when you put a meter on the battery while the car is running do you get 14.4 volts?

how about using the spare key - maybe the transponder is messed up on the orig key
does the green transponder light on the dash light up?

one of our locals had a bad ecu (covered under warranty) where his car would start sometimes and other times nothing like a dead battery

silly question as it has happened before - is the clutch depressed when you push the start button

If the key/security transponder is bad the engine will still crank, just won't start.

If a new battery goes dead there must be something draining it while the car is off or it's not being charged when the car is running.

Since you bought the battery from the dealer and they were supposed to verify your electrical system was OK I would call them back. They may not be up to towing your car in but they should be willing to double-check the system since their new battery didn't last a week.

I will definitely be getting the dealership to look at it again, and come to think of it, I do not remember if i pushed the clutch or not. Silly of me I know, but I think I was expecting it to not crank so I just didnt do it.

It seems that the defective input was causing a drain on the battery, even though the dealership said there was no issue.
