a tube would not wrok well at all. Those are best in hatches. The trunk is too sealed to let any real sound through. I have a 10" sub in a sealed box with 283WRMS running to it, and it leaves me wanting more. I had a set of 10's in my Protege5 with 275WRMS (140ish WRMS to each) between the two, and it sounded louder than my current setup.

What about a 6.5" one behind each seat?

i'm not so sure there's enough room for even a 6.5" bazooka tube behind the seat?

hatchbacks are amazing for bass. i had a friend that had a single 6.5" bazooka in the hatch of his T/A and it hit amazingly hard. i had 2 8" Solo Barics in my T/A's hatch getting around 450wrms and they hit harder than most peoples 12's in their trunks! everyone was amazed to find that it was only a tiny pair of 8" subs

yeah, my old CRX was incredible for making tons of sound out of virtually nothing... sometimes, i really miss that little car.

either or -- Bazooka's will still sound pretty good in any car (hatchback or not) they are put in, since they move air, and thanks to that monster port, they will move lots of it very efficiently. basically, it won't be as loud as if it were in a hatchback, but as you can see from other comments -- nothing is quite like a hatch, no matter what the speaker.

either or - sound quality of the bazooka is typical for a large ported speaker with high efficiencies.
it's a pretty boomy sound with somewhat sloppy bass. but you get tons of volume out of even a little bit of power, so - if the boomy doesn't bother you - go for it.

the President is actually a friend of mine and lives down here in BR (we go to the same church)... i knew him for quite a while before i even put 1+1 together... too bad i don't really like the way a bazooka sounds.

actually....... the bazookas sound good.. BUT, they are under rated(the RMS should be lower, it says 250w but i think its 100w RMS).. i had the 10 inch DVC sub, and sounded excellent, but after 4 minutes of play, i fried the coils! LOL i popped the trunk and a ball of smoke came out. :-( (it did bump real good though :-D) I am running an alpine mrv-f345 amp btw. I replaced the woofer only with an alpine 10 in DVC type R (using the existing tube). and the sound is much better!!! IMO i like it since its small. i can take it out when i need the trunk space.. etc.

cheers~
