Default Best Alpine deck to get?

Thinking of upgrading my current Alpine HU, so looking at new Alpine HU options to go with my Alpine DCI.

What is prob the best for iPod and BlueTooth among the current model lineup? Any opinions?

Well be careful with the CDE units, as I found out the hard way, since they don't always play nice with the Wired DCI. You could always go with the CDA 117, which will support your iPhone fine, works with the wired DCI and is Bluetooth enabled for both phone calls and audio/video streaming

Not sure how new you are looking to go, as that is a 2010 model and there are probably some 2011 options, but the above is a safe bet as it clearly indicated to be compatible with the wired DCI on the Modifry website.

I've actually got the CDA-105, which isn't listed on their webpage, but you can get to easily enough by editing the model # in the URL from 117 to 105:

http://www.alpine-usa.com/product/view/cda-105/

It's hard to tell the difference between them though, since you can't use the website's compare feature with an unlisted model.

I'm also noticing that both units prompt you to buy an upgrade in order to take advantage of the bluetooth technology...

I love my CDE-123. Works perfectly with the Modifry DCI, Bluetooth capable, front and rear USB. I have my Ipod off the rear USB sitting in the cargo net on the passenger side out of the way, controlled off the headunit so you dont have to ever touch the Ipod.

Thanks. I've had my current Alpine for 6-7 years and its been great but it no longer charges the new iPod/iPhones, so I want to make a change and add BT while I'm at it.

9887 has a better processor plus blue tooth and the Ipod connection works fast unlike the 117

have a CDA-9886 in my echoarri works fine (came with both ipoo cable and usb connections)
put a CDA-117 in my wifes S2000, it's a decent deck

but my beef with the alpine units are the eq controls.. they're poo, considering todays technology

so ordered a modifry sony DCI adapter and harness last night, and picked up a SONY DSX-300BTX for her xmas stocking stuffer

http://www.futureshop.ca/en-CA/resea...rs/rc8869.aspx

this will be the first sony deck, the specs and price are decent.. so giving it a try
(the only minor poor comments are related to the joystick/knob control)

check it out.. you might like it too
