Default Best HU that allows door to be closed during use?

What so you guys think are the best Head Units that can be run with the radio door closed? I ask because I heard that at least some Alpine decks do not fit when the unit is on becuase of the way the face rotates.

What are you guys using?

John

Im using the 9807 (alpine)...I had to cut a small square off the INSIDE of the door so that the volume knob wouldnt hit everytime I close the door. So, the 9807 is a NO if you do not want to cut your door.

I have an Alpine 9815 and it fits fine. I also had a Kenwood Z828 that fit just fine.

I have a Sony CDX-M850MP and the radio door does not close when the HU is 'open' but the HU works fine when it's closed, and then the door is fine.

You only need to 'open' the HU if you are changing CDs or want to press the buttons on the HU itself (both obvoiusly need the door open too.) With the HU closed, the remote control and the dash controls (thanks to the Lucid/Modifry DCI) work just fine.
